“Sart” is a school project I did together with Ellen Wagnild-Antonsen and Alex Jonassen in 2014.

The task was to aesthetically interpret some form of chosen music or sound in to a speaker. We chose to work with the musical expression of Gustavo Alfredo Santaolalla. His melancholic atmospheric music gave basis for this form and for the chosen materials.

The speaker is made of white oak, steel and leather. The steel is untreated and has over the years developed a natural patina that ties the three materials more together. The oak is waxed to give it a warmer glow.

Turning the head.
Using a laser cut template to punch out the holes in the leather.

If one wants to check out Santaolalla’s music, I recommend his song “De Usuahia a la Quiaca” from the movie The Motorcycle Diaries, it is one of my favourites.
